I’ve been on and off for many years. I never told a doctor about it. I try to breathe slowly, and actively pursue an activity that will make my mind on something other than myself. It almost always stops the attacks. I always get a fight with them every few months and it is difficult and scary, but I know intellectually that they pass more quickly if I do what I said above.
